Shen Blossom Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an incredibly pure, facility produced olive oil with an exceptionally low free fatty acid content. Our hand selected single origin, heirloom, extra virgin olive oil is traditionally produced in small batches. This is a true extra virgin, cold-processed, unfiltered olive oil processed shortly after harvest.
Much of the olive oil that you find at the store, organic or not, is often rancid and/or cut with other oils. We traveled to Italy and found someone who is doing it right. Oil that is properly harvested at the right time, produced using traditional techniques with incredible purity, containing all the health qualities you would expect from healthy trees that live for hundreds, and in some cases thousands of years.

Why are we so excited about olive oil?
We feel food is the best medicine, and being that great olive oil is hard to find, olive oil by itself is certainly an excellent longevity food, providing the body with numerous benefits. In fact, in a long-long term research study, those 65 years and older who consumed the most olive oil-derived polyphenols, lived on average 9.5 years longer than those who did not.

Topical Gold
Although your primary nutrition for your skin comes from what you eat, olive oil is incredible for the skin when applied topically.
Olive oil contains vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as omega-9, which all contribute to protecting and locking moisture in your skin and helping to fade scars over time.
It is helpful for protecting the skin from sun exposure, as well as healing the skin after excessive sun exposure.
It also makes a good carrier oil (like our Gobo root oil) when infusing other herbs for topical use.
Low Free Fatty Acids!
Free fatty acids are created when the lypolitic enzymes in the olive pulp or seed come in contact with the oil.
High values of free acidity can be due to numerous factors, including production from unhealthy olives, microorganism or mold contamination, attack from flies or parasites, bruised olives, delays in harvesting or processing, etc.
Virgin oil is typically characterized as having less than .8% free fatty acids.
Our extra virgin olive oil contains .3% free fatty acids.
