High Frequency Violet Ray

Violet Ray technology was originally created by one of the most famous geniuses of the 20th century, Nikola Tesla. Tesla's work formed the basis for modern AC electricity, which is still being utilized to this day.

The Violet Ray originally came onto the market in the early part of the 20th century, and was used to support many applications, including:

  • Poor circulation
  • Nervous system imbalance
  • Pain
  • Digestion
  • Detoxification
  • Oxygenation
  • Metabolism
  • Glandular support

The Violet Ray uses an electrified noble gas (argon). The Violet Ray acts in a manner similar to a spark coil in a car. Utilizing a transformer, the voltage is increased dramatically as it moves through the resonating coil. The device's bulb contains a gas that ionizes and produces charged particles that emanate from the surface. This combination of charged particles with high frequency produces a mild heating effect in the body. This heating of body tissue, called diathermy, increases the circulation, dilates superficial blood vessels, and promotes healing.

Due to the ability of Violet Ray Technology to heal skin tissue, skin specialists across the country still use the Violet Ray on clients with acne. Beauticians use it to increase the circulation in the scalp and stimulate hair growth in clients with "falling hair" or baldness.

The noble gas energizes the body by transferring antioxidant electrons into the tissue, which increases ATP production.

The Violet Ray also produces oxygen at the cell level, which is helpful for recovery, repair, and managing infections.

General Usage Guidelines

  1. Thoroughly cleanse your skin and gently pat dry.
  2. Apply desired skin care lotion, cream or serum to the desired area of treatment.
  3. Ensure that the power control dial at the end of the unit is switched to the "off" position. The system comes with three different electrodes designed to facilitate treatment of various areas of the face and body. Select desired electrode attachment and firmly insert into the body of the unit. Plug the device into the power outlet and switch the power dial to the "on" position.
  4. The device will now begin to quietly "buzz" as the high frequency wave action begins. When touched to the skin, the inserted electrode will emit a therapeutic glow as it begins to produce a pleasant tingling sensation and an aroma similar to fresh air.
  5. Prior to treatment, ensure that the wand's intensity control dial is switched to the lowest setting. Lightly sweep the electrode on your skin in a circular or zig-zag motion for a maximum of 5-7 minutes. Be sure that the glass is touching your skin. If it is hovering above the skin, you will see the electric currents, like in the image above, but it will sting rather than tingle. The glass should lightly sit directly on the skin during treatment. It is not necessary to apply excessive pressure during treatment! Doing so may negatively affect the long-term performance of your system. Recommended treatment frequency: 2-3 times per week. It may be used daily for no longer than 5-7 minutes.
  6. Always use the lowest power setting during the first few weeks of treatment. Once you become comfortable with the intensity of the high frequency current, you can continue to work at a slightly higher setting until you reach your optimal comfort level. This will depend upon your personal skin sensitivity level. High frequency treatment should be relaxing and therapeutic, never uncomfortable!
  7. When not in use, ensure that your Violet Ray and included glass bulbs are securely stored in the protective case provided. Do not leave plugged in when not in use.

Dimensions: 10" (L) x 10" (H) x 2.5" (W)

Power Supply: 110V / 120V, 50Hz / 60Hz a voltage converter is required for use outside of North America.

Power Supply Plug: 3-prong  -grounded for safety

Wattage:8W (important: see below**)

Current: 0.067A

Frequency (Oscillation Rate): Up to 200,000 Hertz (Cycles Per Second)

**A note about ideal wattage levels: The power level and output strength of a high frequency machine is measured by the high frequency oscillation rate (measured in Hertz) rather than watts and amps. Portable high frequency machines operating at a LOWER wattage level (less than 10 watts) are generally higher quality systems, more efficient at producing a high frequency current and will last much longer than much higher wattage, more inexpensively manufactured units. Portable high frequency machines operating at HIGH levels of wattage (10+ watts) have to work harder to generate the same electrical current output and are more prone to to internal damage and early coil burnout due to overheating.

Caution: This system is intended for light professional use. We recommend against using the system for more than 5 minutes per treatment, per day. Using the system beyond the safe, recommended treatment times contained in this guide may cause overheating and early coil burnout. Using the system beyond the recommended treatment time will not provide incremental benefit as the skin requires time to adjust to the effects of the high frequency stimulus. To extend the life of the machine, always allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes following each treatment session.

  • Avoid using AHA Glycolic Acid or alcohol-based products in conjunction with this system, as they may cause excessive drying of the skin.
  • High frequency is not recommended for the treatment of spider veins or Rosacea.
  • Those who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, history of heart disease or other medical condition should avoid using high frequency.
  • Do not use internally (i.e. in mouth, nose or other mucus membrane).
  • Never touch the metal area inside the wand casing while the device is powered on. Doing so may cause an electrical shock injury.
  • Never operate unit with a broken glass electrode, and never use outdoors, near water or around combustible substances.
  • Those with serious medical conditions should consult with a medical professional before use.
